SO YOU ARE EXPECTING?
FERRY NICE.

Gander International Airport welcomes an extraordinary amount of empty aircraft as the intermediate hub for ferry flights across the Atlantic. Air Europa, JetBlue, Frontier Airlines, Air Jamaica, Iberian and a host of others use Gander to get their aircraft into service.

But why YQX? It has much to do with location. Gander provides an excellent fuel stop for medium-range passenger aircraft being delivered from the Airbus factory in Toulouse to North America, or, in the opposite leg, Boeing Aircraft such as the 737 being delivered from Seattle to Europe.

We frequently host Airbus A320 transfers from European charter companies to North American vacation operators for the winter months. Monarch, Aero Lloyd, Airtours and Skyservice A320s have all visited while on delivery to their winter vacation duties. We also get ferry flights for aircraft taken out of storage in the Mojave Desert or aircraft that have been flown overseas for servicing.

For ferry flights requiring a fuel stop, Gander dually makes sense and save cents. Logistically, it offers the most balanced and efficient routing. Financially, Gander's allure of cost-competitive fuel and fees provide a financial environment sympathetic to the fact a ferry flight is a necessary evil, not a revenue opportunity. Further, we can turn these aircraft in under 45 minutes, and get you back to the job at hand.

YQX has specially-priced packages for ferry flights. Contact marketing@giaa.nf.ca to learn more.

WELCOMING THE CONCORDE
In October 1974, the supersonic transport Concorde landed at Gander after the first in a series of transatlantic test flights, two years before inauguration of scheduled commercial service. Gander International Airport was one of the first in the world where the arrival of the then new Concorde was a routine flight. The world bid the Concorde farewell when it retired in late 2003.
YQX has reinvented itself as an entrepreneurial airport that caters to niche needs and provides a great return for the dollar. Be it corporate, military, charter, or cargo traffic, Gander offers a high quality tech stop for a low price.

Gander International Airport's consistent record of efficient ground handling, fast turns, lack of operating restrictions, on-site police and catering, and nearby full-service hospital has long made it the technical stop of choice of route planners and pilots transiting the North Atlantic.

Known worldwide for its effective, efficient and courteous handling of technical stops, Gander handles 5,000 flights per year between Europe and North/South America. With its strategic location midway between North America and Europe, Gander offers optimal economics as a money-saving technical stop, making it the first choice of airline financial officers as well. Gander truly is the Transatlantic Resource.
IT'S ALL ABOUT LOCATION
Our strategic location on the Great Circle Route means Gander allows aircraft to minimize fuel uptake requirements and maximize effiency. We offer competitive fees, renowned service, good fuel prices, tremendous skill in service and reliable infrastructure in a secure, congestion-free environment.

At Gander International Airport, your bottom line is our top priority. We can serve you in a tech stop, transshipment, private executive charter or business capacity with an eye on driving your profit.
KISS CONGESTION GOODBYE
You don't need to be a flight planner to understand that spinning endless circles awaiting clearance to land is, simply put, inefficient. It wastes gas, crew time, and adds time and cost to your trip.

Modern aviation-be it passengers, cargo, or corporate travel-sells time. At YQX, we help ensure time is on your side by making sure your cargo and passengers arrive on schedule.

YQX is a congestion-free airport. Our customers enjoy low traffic density. We have capacity to absorb dramatic increases in traffic while maintaining a high-frequency of fast turnarounds. No holding patterns. No lengthy taxis. No headaches. No delays, on the ground or in the air.

Gander is home to three NAV CANADA facilities: the Area Control Centre (ACC), Air Traffic Control Tower and International Flight Service Station (IFSS). All three facilities play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of aircraft in domestic airspace and international oceanic airspace assigned to Canada.
WHERE GIANTS ROAM
Size doesn't matter. Not to us, anyway. The giants of the aviation world frequent Gander International Airport because we have infrastructure built for the juggernauts of the sky. The large and small of it is that YQX's 2-mile long runway handles anything that flies. The Airbus A380F? Bring it on. We're an official alternate airport of the space shuttle. We routinely accommodate the An124, C5s, C17s, 747s and, occasionally, An225.

YQX has ample parking spaces, big taxiways, 200-feet wide runways. In fact, Gander International Airport has the largest runway of any civilian airport east of Montreal. Accommodating the needs of large aircraft is one of our core competencies, with an accent of speed, efficiency, courtesy and cost.

Handling the giants is a small feat for YQX.
NO NOISE RESTRICTIONS
YQX has no noise abatement restrictions, 24/7. This means savings to you in both time and fuel during critical climb and descent procedures.

Aircraft routinely stay at Gander to take advantage of our competitive parking fees while awaiting the reopening of European airspace due to noise curfews.

Because Gander International Airport is completely exempt from the application of any noise regulations, it can serve Chapter I and II aircraft, any time of the day, now and into the future. In fact, YQX is the only airport in North America which will accept Chapter I aircraft. This exemption allows older aircraft, such as the IL-76 fleet, to access the vast NAFTA marketplace by transshipping through Gander. Such aircraft can take cargo bound for the United States or Canada, and transfer those goods to a noise compliant aircraft for delivery to final market.
REFUEL. RECHARGE. RELAX.
YQX offers a full range of amenities to make your technical stop as productive and comfortable as possible.

You are invited to use our International Crew Lounge during our technical stop. This facility provides private lounge and washroom facilities for your crew members to relax and freshen up. Complimentary fresh coffee and snacks are available. The lounge has private telephone facilities, a secure fax line, television and day beds so you can recharge as you refuel.

Just because modern aircraft can cover extraordinary distances, doesn't mean your passengers want to be on an airplane for nine hours straight. Our in-transit facility allows your passengers to disembark and return without any delay to the flight. Our in-transit facilities are completely sterile to international passengers and no additional screening or customs examination is required. The passengers can simply disembark, enter the lounge, eat, relax, shop and stretch their legs. Passenger airlines using Gander as a technical stop are not charged terminal user fees. A quick stop which doesn't impede arrival time will go a long ways toward a healthier, more satisfied customer.

This service is particularly attractive to charter operations offering sunspot travel from Europe to the Caribbean, especially those utilizing medium range aircraft.
