BACK TO PRESS RELEASES

(March 5, 2009) Sunwing Airlines as announced it will offer twice weekly flights between Gander and Toronto this summer. Sunwing’s summer schedule features Tuesday and Friday departures from June 15-September 15.

“This is the third year Sunwing has offered this schedule and the airline is fast becoming a welcome summer fixture,” said Gary Vey, President and CEO of the Gander International Airport Authority. “We are delighted Sunwing will again offer affordable travel options to Toronto for the peak season for local residents, Newfoundland expatriates and visitors to Central Newfoundland.”

To celebrate the launch of the summer schedule, early bird pricing includes one way fares beginning as low as $149.

All flights are on the carrier’s state-of-the-art Boeing 737s and include a generous hot snack, non-alcoholic beverages and in-flight entertainment with yours-to-keep headsets, all at no extra charge.

New this year on the domestic routes will be Sunwing’s Elite Plus service, which offers travelers the benefits of advance seat selection, extra-legroom seats, priority check-in, advance boarding service and a 30 kg baggage allowance – all for just $35 each way.

For those Central Newfoundland residents looking to defrost in the Dominican Republic this winter, Sunwing Vacations is also offering all inclusive holidays in Punta Cana with Thursday departures from Gander between March 26-May 11.
