YQX delegation attends International Air Cargo Forum |
A delegation from the Gander International Airport Authority will be exhibiting at the 22nd International Air Cargo Forum and Exhibition in Bilbao, Spain September 14-17.
The Air Cargo Forum is held every two years and welcomes more than 5,000 air logistics executives.
"It's the world's premier air cargo event, bringing all parts of the industry together," said GIAA President and CEO Gary Vey. "This forum puts all of our customers - existing and prospective - under one roof. We are confident we can generate new business over this four days."
The airport began reparations for the event began in March, and Mr. Vey is optimistic that some of that preliminary work will pay dividends at the exhibition.
"We hope the homework we've done will allow us to sign off on some of our key development files," he said. "Of course, the forum also provides a chance for us to reconnect with some of our customers and put our best foot forward."
The YQX delegation includes representation from Allied Aviation of Newfoundland Ltd. and the Town of Gander.
The Gander International Airport Authority is the not-for-profit organization created in 1996 to manage operations at Gander International Airport (CYQX). The airport plays a key role in the economic and community development of the Town of Gander and the Central Newfoundland region.
