Gander International Airport adds complimentary wi-fi access |
The Gander International Airport Authority has added Wi-Fi high-speed internet access as a free service for its customers.
Users can connect laptops or handheld devices to the internet in all areas of the Air Terminal Building, including the departures gates, main terminal and international lounge.
"We needed a Wi-Fi enabled airport to add to the basic amenities required of our customers," said Gary Vey, airport authority President and CEO. "Our corporate passengers can't afford to have the work umbilical cord cut, so the Wi-Fi service will allow them to remain productive, connected and accessible during dwell times while awaiting their flights. Our international lounge is also connected so flight crews, VIPs and transiting international passengers can take advantage of the service. Many airports require a pay-per-use charge for Wi-Fi access, but we believe a free service contributes to the airport authority's goal of offering an efficient, courteous, safe and secure travel experience."
The Gander International Airport Authority is the not-for-profit organization created in 1996 to manage operations at Gander International Airport (CYQX). The airport plays a key role in the economic and community development of the Town of Gander and the Central Newfoundland region.
