Gander International Airport Authority will host its Annual Public Meeting at Hotel Gander's Salon A, Thursday, May 19 at 2 p.m.
Gary Vey, President and CEO, said the meeting provides an opportunity to reconnect with the community, reflect on the year behind and provide a forecast of the year to come.
"Gander International Airport had a relatively strong 2004. Aircraft movements continued to trend upwards in most categories, international traffic performed well, and domestic passenger enplanements were essentially on par with last year," Mr. Vey stated. "However, we have a number of short-term challenges to address with the departure of WestJet and an undersupply of seats in our market."
The Gander International Airport Authority is the not-for-profit organization created in 1996 to manage operations at Gander International Airport (CYQX). The airport plays a key role in the economic and community development of the Town of Gander and the Central Newfoundland Region.
