As Newfoundland's Centre for Aerospace Excellence, Gander has enjoyed strong growth in the last decade. Training institutions, government of all levels, community partners and the private sector have an aggressive agenda to facilitate growth, attract investment and create wealth.
Companies like Briggs Aero maintain and rehabilitate the world's commercial aircraft. Canadian Helicopter Composites is the only purpose-built facility in North America for the manufacture of advanced composite and bonded metal components for the aerospace industry.

COLLEGE OF THE NORTH ATLANTIC
The Gander Campus of the College of the North Atlantic is a centre for aviation excellence, with programs in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and Aircraft Structural Repair. The college graduates 128 students annually who are in great demand from global aviation giants like Bombardier.
GANDER FLIGHT TRAINING
Gander Flight Training offers private and commercial pilot license training for fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft and is located in the General Aviation Terminal at Gander International Airport. Gander Flight Training is a division of Exploits Valley Air Services Ltd., and is registered with the Provincial Department of Education, is a member of the Air Transport Association of Canada (ATAC), and is Transport Canada certified. GFT's instructors are committed to offering quality one-on-one instruction to ensure training is focused on individual goals.
GANDER AEROSPACE TRAINING CENTRE
The Gander Aerospace Training Centre (GATC) is located at the Gander International Airport, and specializes in aircraft composite and bonding design, manufacturing and repair. GATC provides industry specific training for employees of aviation manufacturing and repair companies, as well as recurrent training to Aircraft Maintenance and Structural Repair Technicians and Engineers.
